The voice is essential to our identity and is affected by our psychological state, our physical conditions and our social environment. All our lives, the conditioning of our parents, teachers, experience, and so on, has created blocks to our true expression and a silencing of our natural voice.
It is possible to rediscover our natural voice and release the blocks which may be causing dis-ease. It is also possible to use the vibration of our voices to create healing transformation in others.
Rediscovering the power of the human voice involves sound, movement, breathing, listening and meditation. It is a path that attends to the whole person, the psyche or soul.
Sound has been used for thousands of years for healing. The human voice is the most powerful sound to use, toning with pure tones and vocal harmonics or overtones.
Jasmine Dawson works with individuals as well as facilitating occasional day/weekend workshops and running regular weekly sessions at Being Sound Holistic Health
The work with the voice involves:
Breathing Exercises - for the voice is carried on the breath and the body is fuelled by it.
Movement - exercise to bring more flexibility so that breath and voice can be carried with ease.
Silent moments/meditation – bringing a stillness and awareness that are integral to voice-work.
Listening – an important process to bring greater awareness of the voice.
Singing - for fun! And to experience the power of singing in harmony with others.
Toning - sing pure tones and overtones, discover the power in your voice and how healing this can be.
Free expression – feel the liberation that comes from singing out from the heart
Healing - sound has been used for thousands of years for healing. The human voice is the most powerful way of transmitting healing sound. You will develop your ability to use your own voice for healing others.
